My experience with the OPPO DV-980H matches all of the 5-star reviews on Amazon. Fantastic picture with recent DVDs, thoughtful design (like responding to a variety of other player remote codes, so you can control the OPPO with most universal remotes), useful features, and excellent defaults for the numerous settings.
If Apple made DVD players, they would be like OPPOs, but with prettier menus.
